Choose File > Place.
In the Place dialog box, navigate to the Lessons > Lesson14 > images folder, and select the
Lilypads.psd file. In the Place dialog box, set the following options (on macOS, if you don’t
see the options, click the Options button):
Link: Deselected (Deselecting the Link option embeds an image file in the Illustrator file.
Embedding the Photoshop file allows for more options when it is placed, as you’ll see.)
Show Import Options: Selected (Selecting this option will open an import options dialog
box where you can set import options before placing.)- Click Place.
The Photoshop Import Options dialog box appears because you selected Show Import Options
in the Place dialog box.Note
Even though you select Show Import Options in the Place dialog box, the Import
Options dialog box will not appear if the image doesn’t have multiple layers.
