Using a timeline to filter a PivotTable by date

excel2019bible. The filename is pivot table timeline.xlsx.You can, of course, use both slicers and a timeline for a PivotTable. A timeline has the same
type of formatting options as slicers, so you can create an attractive interactive dashboard
that simplifies PivotTable filtering.
Referencing Cells within a PivotTable
After you create a PivotTable, you may want to create formulas that reference one or more
cells within it. Figure 30.23 shows a simple PivotTable that displays income and expense
information for three years. In this PivotTable, the Month field is hidden, so the PivotTable
shows the year totals.
