Part V: Understanding Power Pivot and Power Query

FIGURE 40.9
Appending multiple queries to NorthData

  1. Choose the Three or more tables option at the top of the dialog box. The Append
dialog box reconfigures to show two list boxes. The list on the left includes all of
the existing queries in your workbook. The list on the right contains the query to
which you are currently appending data (the NorthData query in this scenario).

  2. Select any query you want appended from the left and add it to the list box on
    the right.

  3. Click OK to confirm your selections. The Power Query Editor will launch, giving
you the opportunity to review and edit the results.

  4. Click the Close & Load button to save and exit the Power Query Editor.

At this point, the NorthData query contains the data for all four regions. To see
the fully consolidated table, you’ll need to change the load destination of the
NorthData query to a new worksheet instead of connection only.

  1. In the Queries & Connections pane, right-click the NorthData query and select
Load To. The Import Data dialog box will display.

  2. Select the option for Table and then click OK.

Figure 40.10 illustrates the final output. You have successfully created a consoli-
dated table of region data.
