healthy relationships—when I say healthy
relationships, I mean his relationships in general—
makes it likelier that a man will struggle in romantic
relationships. If he doesn’t have healthy
relationships in his life, with friends, family, co-
workers, etc., he’s going to have a hard time in a
romantic relationship because his feelings will be
intensified, and he doesn’t know how to properly
handle them.
Understand that he’s going to have a lot of
growing pains, in terms of being able to really handle
this current relationship in a mature fashion. I
mentioned being immature as a reason why some
men lie. I also need to mention insecurity as a reason
for him lying. Sometimes men lie to hide their own
flaws. The lies are meant to hide the things that
we’re afraid to expose about ourselves because we’re
worried about how we’re going to be judged.
I say “how we” because I’m a man too, and it’s not
like I’ve never lied to a woman for the reason of
wanting to cover up my own shortcomings. I’d be
lying now, if I didn’t include myself, period.
It’s happened to the best of us for numerous
reasons. Insecurity has a way of creeping up on
