Don’t wait until you find a relationship to create
time for a relationship. It’s always risky to try to
learn everything on the job. What do I mean by this?
Well, if you’re single and you usually work late into
the night, you can start giving yourself a cut-off time
so that you know how to do it when the relationship
comes, and it won’t be so difficult. During the
window of time you now have free, you can spend
time doing some personal development activities
that will help you in areas you’ll need when you
enter a relationship. Again, make time now so that
it’s already a habit.
Juggling too much is a dangerous game. You end
up losing out when you don’t figure out how to
make space ahead of time. Hoping someone will just
magically fit into your life and be convenient sets
you and the potential relationship up for failure.
You’re hoping for the other person to just fit, so that
you’re allowed to hold onto all the work and other
things that you’ve already been doing. Theoretically,
it makes sense, but it’s not practical. It’s also not a
good course of action to take if you meet someone
who you’re really into.
