decided to express her feelings to Michael and let
him know where she stood.
“Michael I’m seriously interested in you. I want to
see where this can go. If you’re serious too, I need
you to figure out how you can make time for me and
work. If you’re not willing or ready to do that right
now, then we can’t continue forward. We can’t date
or progress into a relationship. If you’re not prepared
or able to make the necessary time adjustments, then
I’ll need to move on. When/if you get to the point in
your life where you can and are willing to do so, feel
free to reach out and we can take it from there.”
You don’t ever want to give a man permission to
continue behavior you don’t like. By doing so, you
are essentially saying to him, it’s acceptable to you.
Be honest with yourself. Are you going to be happy
with him never having or making time for you on a
regular basis? If you’re genuinely okay with his lack
of time for you, then continue forward. However, if
you know it bothers you, if you know it makes you
unhappy and could open the door to you
entertaining other people, it needs to be addressed
and corrected. If not, the relationship or dating
needs to end.
