It’s unlikely that he’s going to get it together. Not
impossible, just not likely.
The last thing you need to do to shut the door for
good is remove any influences of him in your life.
What I mean by that is, if you all are friends on
social media, unfriend him and block him so he can’t
cyber stalk you. After you unfriend and block him,
don’t go lurking on his pages either. Avoid looking
at his social media. You don’t want to have anything
that’s going to trigger an emotional response from
you and cause you to want to fall back into the
situationship and negative cycle.
Be mindful of your triggers with him and guard
yourself from them. The fact is, he won’t let you go,
but you need to stop letting him stay. He has no
reason to let you go. The reality is, you provide some
form of benefit to him and he wants to keep it.
Whether it’s a place to stay, money, stability, food,
sex, whatever the case may be. He isn’t going to be
willing to give you what you need and you’re not
demanding it because you allow him to do nothing
and still benefit.
It’s like if a job is willing to pay you $400 just for
showing up to work. Why would you let that go? You
