POSTPARTUM
Postpartum hemorrhage. Watch for uterine atony related to an
overdistended uterus.
Hypoglycemia. Turn off any insulin infusion because insulin resistance
decreases with rapidly falling levels of hPL after delivery of the placenta.
Maintain blood glucose levels with a sliding scale.
