OVARIES
Functions of the ovaries include containment of oocytes within the ovarian
follicles and production of reproductive and sexual hormones. The ovaries are
attached by the ovarian ligament to the uterine fundus by the suspensory
ligaments to the pelvic side wall, and by the mesovarium to the broad ligament.
Lymphatic drainage of the ovaries is through the pelvic and paraaortic lymph
nodes.
