scene of the crime right before his administration effected decisions
that enriched his daughter. Most tellingly, it was Magashule who had
flexed his executive muscles to make sure the incumbent contractor got
taken off the project.
Even if Thoko’s Unital somehow won the contracts without any
meddling from her father, the fiasco remains a terrible blight on
Magashule’s legacy. In 2012 , Selahliwe’s shack-dwelling residents
enthusiastically bought into his promises of a fully serviced
neighbourhood. While his daughter’s company made millions, these
people are now left with substandard houses and no water, flushing
toilets or electricity.
