Volts, 60 Hz. and luxury hotels in
Manila and Cebu may have 110
Volts. For divers, laptops, tablets,
camera chargers, smart phones, etc,
usually can be used in the
Philippines, as in most other
countries of the world. Look for the
following statement on the charger:
'INPUT: 100-240V, 50/60 Hz'. The
actual wall female plugs can vary
from the US style two flat pins to
the flat pins with a round ground.
And sometime a Type C socket with
round pins is found. You will need
an adapter for European chargers.
Power fluctuations are less frequent
these days, however, still common
in The Philippines. Blackouts
occasionally do occur, so pack a
flashlight.
Many dive centers have camera
rooms with charging areas as do
diving liveaboards. In
most resorts there are
plenty of sockets in
the rooms to charge
camera and strobe
batteries and work on
the laptop editing
