it all back, and then some. I counted calories and watched portions for years
with no success.
By age 42, I gave up on losing weight and ballooned up to 180 pounds. I
recently started on cholesterol and blood pressure drugs. I heard about the
Perfect 10 Diet from a friend, and after a consultation with Dr. Michael
Aziz, all my beliefs changed. I was shocked to learn that the low-fat
products I consumed were causing me to gain weight. How could this make
sense, with all the “healthy” signs on fatfree salad dressings and cereals?
I started reading the labels and realized I was eating pure sugar. I started
to eat more fiberrich vegetables as side dishes with each meal instead of
pasta and baked potatoes. I started to eat eggs with cheese for breakfast
instead of my favorite cereal when I realized it contained partially
hydrogenated fat in addition to high-fructose corn syrup. I gave up the
orange juice I drank every morning when I realized the enormous amount
of sugar I was consuming on a daily basis. I snacked on nuts and avocados
instead of baked potato chips and fatfree rice cakes.
My appetite switch has been turned off, and my body is so “cleansed” of
sugar that when I do decide to indulge, I experience immediate
consequences (like a yeast infection or a drop in energy). The truth is that I
had become insulin resistant, which is why I gained weight, and I didn’t
even know it. I lost 30 pounds in one year, and my insulin level dropped
from 45 to 5. I am totally off all my cholesterol and blood pressure drugs. I
am amazed at the transformation. I look and feel great—a perfect 10.
I finally feel sexy again 24/7.

Julie’s Story in Her Own Words
I am 37 years old, and my weight has risen steadily since my marriage
12 years ago. After my third child was born, I exercised less, and my
weight reached 200 pounds. I have been on many different popular low-fat
diets over the years, but they never worked. I would lose weight on
