of cancer linked to processed meats include esophagus, stomach, colon, and
prostate. This may be caused by nitrites in processed meats, which are converted
in the stomach to carcinogenic nitrosamines. Unlike lowcarb diets, which can
shorten your life and increase your risk for cancer, the Perfect 10 Diet can extend
your life and prevent cancer.
Don’t be tempted to try these diets because they correctly condemn sugar and
make you lose a few pounds. Be smart.
What about Other Sources of Animal Protein and Organs?
In different parts of the world, other animal protein sources are eaten. There is
no information in medical literature about these different protein sources.
However, they certainly do not contain any dangerous fats or deadly trans fats
you must avoid. Rabbit, frog legs, and snails (escargots), which are common in
French cuisine, are indeed healthy choices, and you can probably treat yourself
to these protein sources without any undue fear for your health. In fact, protein
can be used to make hormones. For those of you who like exotic cuisines, I have
included a rabbit recipe at the end of this book. Ostrich, another delicacy, is very
low in calories and quite healthy.
Cow brain, which is high in fat, should be completely avoided on the Perfect
10 Diet. The risk of bovine spongiform encephalopathy (mad cow disease), a
fatal disease, is too great, however rare it may be.
Is It Healthy to Be a Strict Vegetarian?
That’s an easy question to answer: no. Vegetarian diets are often high in
carbohydrates, which can lead to exaggerated insulin secretions. A high insulin
level equals getting fat.
A vegetarian diet is also too low in fat. The greatest advantage of a diet with
adequate fat intake is what it does to your sex hormones. A cholesterolrich diet
yields more sex hormones than a vegetarian diet. For guys, a body of research
indicates that a diet with 40 percent of its calories from fat yields more
testosterone than one with 30 percent of its calories from fat. The latest research
clearly supports my diet plan. Strict vegetarians can develop a sluggish thyroid
since their diet may be too low in protein, and an underactive thyroid equals
weight gain. A diet low in protein may not support HGH production, the
hormone that keeps you young and fit.
If you are a guy trying to build muscles, let me ask you this: do you really
think you can sculpt a body and build muscles by eating bread and rice? Why do
