Kitchen Cleaning
The road to good health starts with your kitchen. For this reason, no diet can be
successful unless you start with some kitchen cleaning (Fig. 7.1). Educate your
family and include them in the process so they don’t sabotage your efforts. Open
your refrigerator and throw away all the margarine and imitation butters. Get rid
of all the fruit juices and soda. Next, go after the condiments, including all
jellies, ketchup, barbecue sauces, and fatfree salad dressings that contain high-
fructose corn syrup. Throw away your allpurpose white flour, croutons preserved
with hydrogenated oil, and breadcrumbs. Artificial sweeteners must go, too.
Processed meats? This is the Perfect 10 Diet here, so don’t even try to keep
those.
Next, get rid of all the refined vegetable oils that contain trans fats, including
corn, safflower, and mixed vegetable oil (even if they have an FDA statement on
the label that says otherwise).
Next, throw away anything that is labeled low-fat or fatfree, because these
products are full of sugar (not to mention chemicals and dyes). The list includes
all sugary cereals with added chemicals and dyes.
Don’t bother thinking, “But I just bought this cereal, or orange juice— what a
waste.” Your health is more valuable than all the money in the world. You will
be surprised that you were ever able to live on this toxic diet. Don’t give it to the
Salvation Army either. No human being deserves to be poisoned because he or
she is poor.
Now, before you restock your cabinets, make sure you carefully read all the
food labels in the supermarket. Avoid buying processed foods at all times. Fill
your refrigerator with fresh vegetables, fruits, poultry, and fish. Buy some butter
for cooking. Don’t forget to get a wholefood supplement pill to take on a daily
