If they don’t offer an option like that, stick with salads. The salad listed in the
following table is perfectly acceptable on the Perfect 10 Diet, but skip the
croutons and ask for olives instead. Avoid oil and vinegar as dressing, because
vinegar is bad for your hormones and the oil might be hydrogenated. Instead,
specifically request extra-virgin olive oil.
French Restaurants
Vegetable dishes are plentiful in French cooking. Many dishes, however, are
made with heavy cream sauces. This is certainly acceptable, but I recommend
that you ask for the sauce on the side so that you can keep calories in check.
Several menu items also contain potatoes. Ask for an acceptable substitute, such
as a green salad. French desserts? Sorry. Eat the fruit, but skip the starchy crusts
and the jam.
