inflammatory chemicals are often elevated in the blood of people who are not
overtly sick or injured. Low-grade chronic inflammation is associated with an
increased risk for heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and other health problems.
One of the best markers for systemic inflammation is highly sensitive C-
reactive protein (hs-CRP), a protein that is produced during inflammation. This
newly discovered marker is much more important than the bad cholesterol, C-
LDL. Evidence has shown that inflammation is closely tied to insulin and leptin
resistance. Your level of hs-CRP should be below 1 mg/L. Ask your doctor to
run the highly sensitive C-reactive protein test, rather than the standard, less
sensitive C-reactive protein test. You should see an improvement in your hs-CRP
level as you follow the Perfect 10 Diet, which is rich in seafood and includes
more omega-3 fatty acids in your diet. If your levels are higher than 1, add extra
omega-3 fatty acids in pill form. Just like your cholesterol, if you correct
underlying hormonal problems, your hs-CRP should fall.
- Fasting Sugar
A diagnosis for diabetes is made when a fasting sugar level is over 126 mg/ dL.
But if your fasting sugar level is over 70, you may be prediabetic and at risk for
developing diabetes. It’s important to not go by the lab reference range, which
indicates that 70 to 126 mg/dL is normal. Eliminate sugar from your diet and
implement the Perfect 10 Diet plan to see an improvement.
