serves wood-oven Neapolitan-style pizzas with
scrumptious toppings to crowds of patrons with

seadog hangout, the Old Angler’s Inn is actually
one of the poshest restaurants in Potomac, MD,
and makes for a nice detour from C&O’s outdoor
activities. Inside the warm, rustic-chic dining
room, French Laundry-inspired fare mixed with
Chesapeake flavor comes to the table. It’s 2
miles from the Great Falls Tavern Visitor Center.

grounds of this farm-turned-bed-and-breakfast
encapsulate the beauty of rural Maryland.
Situated in rolling green hill country, it manages
to come off as appealingly rough around the
edges. The owners are local historians and
experts on all things Montgomery County, and
the breakfasts are wonderful. Located 15 miles
northeast of White’s Ferry.

attractive guestrooms, including a room where
Stonewall Jackson briefly lodged during the Civil

a) This lovely B&B consists of two pre–Civil
War residences (Heritage and Mountain house)
smack dab in the heart of historic Harpers Ferry.
