BEDTIME
As you are learning in 1-2-3 Magic, a big part of Parenting Job
2, encouraging good behavior, is establishing reasonable and
consistent routines. Kids do much better when the things you
want them to accomplish—like eating supper and doing
homework—are carried out each day at the same time and pretty
much in the same way.
One of the most critical daily routines is getting the kids to bed
—and getting them to stay there. Mess up this job and everyone
will pay dearly, not only in the evening but the next day as well.
That’s what happened to us. We had to learn the hard way how
to do bedtime with our young daughter, but what a relief once
we figured it out!
