In these critical locations, glazing must satisfy one of the
following:-

1. 
   

   Breakage to leave only a small opening with small detachable
   particles without sharp edges.

   
   


2. 
   

   Disintegrating glass must leave only small detached pieces.

   Inherent robustness, e.g. polycarbonate composition. Annealed
   glass acceptable but with the following limitations:-

   Panes in small areas, <250 mm wide and <0.5 m^2 area. e.g.
   leaded lights (4 mm annealed glass) and Georgian pattern
   (6 mm annealed glass).
