Glossary of Ingredients


Acai berry: The acai berry is a reddish-purple fruit from the acai palm tree,
native to Central and South America. Acai berries have a remarkable
concentration of trace minerals, amino acids, essential fatty acids, phytosterols,
and antioxidants. With 10 times more antioxidants than red grapes and 10–30
times the anthocyanins of red wine, acai helps combat premature aging,
increases blood flow to the skin, and feeds the skin high concentrations of
nutrients, which improves skin tone, texture, and radiance.


Agave: This is a natural humectant with antibacterial properties that contains
trace amounts of calcium, potassium, and magnesium.


Aloe vera: Known for its healing, soothing, antibacterial, and moisturizing
properties, naturally cooling aloe vera is used to relieve burning, itching, irritated
skin. Recent studies indicate that aloe vera has the ability to accelerate skin cell
growth.


Apple cider vinegar: This contains natural alpha-hydroxy acids, which help
slough off built-up oil, grime, and dead skin cells. Apple cider vinegar contains
acetic acid, which is one of the components of pain relief medications such as
aspirin, making it beneficial for itchy and painful skin conditions. When
topically applied, apple cider vinegar balances your skin’s pH, shrinks pore size,
and works to lighten discolorations, including sun and age spots.


Avocado and avocado oil: Highly moisturizing, readily absorbed, regenerative,
and anti-inflammatory for the skin, avocado is high in beneficial fats, vitamins
