interesting to have a space which could also deal with heavier topics
and sometimes it made it feel more personally personal than we had
personally expected.
I think there had always been a part of me that worried that the
success of Korean Englishman had been a bit of a fluke, so it was
gratifying to have started something new and distinct and see it strike a
chord. We soon settled into the routine of video making, meeting our
various upload deadlines on each channel, and enjoying the creative
process. Of course, this meant that Ollie and I were hanging out more
than ever, and the privilege of getting to work with my best friend was
never lost on me.
I’m not able to read minds, but if I could have read Ollie’s mind on
those filming days I would have seen that he too was really grateful for
my friendship and loyalty through it all.
Ollie’s mind would have said, “Thanks for always sticking by me
through the highs and the lows. You’ve consistently looked out for
me, tolerating my weaknesses and selflessly championing my
strengths. You know I wouldn’t have got through the last few years
without you, and I’m so grateful for your friendship in it all. I love you,
man. P.S. Please forgive me for secretly writing and publishing your
autobiography without your knowledge for a joke. I’m aware it’s a bit
weird.”
