“It’s okay, it was fun, honestly,” Lylot said. “Are you guys okay? And can we go
now?” I ask both of them. “Yeah, let's go celebratethe rest of our birthday with
our little sis.” C-dog says. We leave the libraryand get in the car. On the way
home Vail says to us, “Sorry I didn’t help or anything.I just really don't like
conflict.” “It’s fine. I didn’t even expect C-dogto do what he did.” I say so that she
doesn’t feel bad. Once we get home Ms.Kayla, Mom,and Key all rush to the door
and ask, “Are you guys okay?” I look at Vail, Lylot,and C-dog and laugh. “It
wasn’t how I planned to spend my 18th birthday, butyes we’re okay.” I say. Mom
hugs me and C-dog. That’s the first time she’s evershown compassion towards
me. Losing her husband and dog must’ve really hurt.“It’s only 10 p.m, what are
we gonna do now?” Key asks, full of all the energyin the world. “Maybe,
skating?” C-dog suggests. We all ran to the car inagreement. “I’ll take that as a
yes.” C-dog laughs.
