Shredded Amish Chicken and


Gravy


prep time: 5 minutes (not including time to make fauxtatoes,

I grew up in a small town in north-central Wisconsin,
where Amish chicken and gravy is a traditional meal
served at everything from graduation parties to
weddings. You often find this dish made with turkey
instead of chicken.


6 boneless, skinless chicken thighs
1 cup chicken bone broth, homemade (here) or store-
bought
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese (Kite Hill brand
cream cheese style spread if dairy-free), softened
1 tablespoon poultry seasoning
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
Fresh herbs of choice, such as thyme, for garnish
(optional)
Melted ghee or unsalted butter, for drizzling (optional;
omit for dairy-free)
