Legal resources
Books
Cheshire, Fifoot and Furmston, The Law of Contract: Butterworth (an
authoritative university text). Stone, R., Principles of Contract Law:
Cavendish Publishing (a university text).
Vanstone, Sherratt, and Charman, AS Law: Willan Publishing (useful for
review of material covered in the first part of the course, especially
when studying for the synoptic examination).
Hodge, S., Tort Law: Willan Publishing (useful for overlap of some areas
of consumer law, e.g. negligence).
Newspapers and journals
The Times (always good for current developments and articles,
particularly in the supplement on Tuesdays, and a good source of
current cases).
Student Law Review: Cavendish Publishing (published three times each
year – useful for recent developments – see below for on-line version).
The New Law Journal (the major journal for current developments and
academic articles on civil law issues).
See below (The Internet) for journals available on-line.
The internet
If you have access to the internet a new world of legal information is
available to you. I have collected here a selection of addresses of sites which
may be of interest and which should be useful to you in your studies. They
are arranged into categories, very broadly, according to content, although
some sites will contain material which belongs to more than one category.
This is a fast developing and changing resource, so the content of a site
may not be the same from one visit to another. The addresses on page 333
were all accurate and operational at the point of publication.
