vaeinthisstagearesensitivetodryness.Inmoistsoilorwatertheyremain
viableforaboutonemonth.Highertemperatures(optimum: 20 – 308 C)and
sufficientmoisturefavorthedevelopmentoftheparasitestagesoutsideofa
host.
Humansareinfectedmainlybythepercutaneousroute.Factorsfavoring
infectionincludeworkinginricepaddies,walkingbarefootoncontaminated
