Pact,bywhichtheywouldsharearichmineinawondrous
cavernknownasWaveEchoCave.Inadditiontoits
mineralwealth,theminecontainedgreatmagicalpower.
Humanspellcastersalliedthemselveswiththedwarves
andgnomestochannelandbindthatenergyintoagreat
forge(calledtheForgeofSpells),wheremagicitemscould
becrafted.Timesweregood,andthenearbyhumantown
ofPhandalin(pronounced&/7-duh-lin)prosperedaswell.
Butthendisasterstruckwhenoressweptthroughthe
Northandlaidwastetoallintheirpath.
Apowerfulforceoforesreinforcedbyevilmercenary
wizardsattackedWaveEchoCavetoseizeitsrichesand
