offindingoneormoremagicitems.LostMineof
Phandelvercontainsanassortmentofmagicitemsthat
hintsatthewidervarietyofmagicitemswaitingtobe
foundintheworldsofD&D.SeetheDungeonMaster’s
Guideformanymoreitems.

UsingaMagicItem

Amagicitem’sdescriptionexplainshowtheitemworks.
Handlingamagicitemisenoughtogiveacharactera
sensethatsomethingisextraordinaryabouttheitem.
Castingtheidentifyspellontheitemthenrevealsits
properties.Alternatively,acharactercanconcentrate
ontheitemduringashortrest,whilebeinginphysical
contactwiththeitem.Attheendoftherest,thecharacter
learnstheitem’sproperties.Potionsareanexception;a
littletasteisenoughtotellthetasterwhatthepotiondoes.
Certainmagicitemsrequireausertoattunetothem
beforetheirmagicalpropertiescanbeused.Attuning
toamagicitemrequiresthatyouspendashortrest
concentratingonit(thiscan’tbethesameshortrest
usedtolearnanitem’sproperties).Dependingonthe
natureoftheitem,thisconcentrationcantaketheformof
prayers,weaponpractice,ormeditation.Inanycase,the
concentrationperiodmustbeuninterrupted.Onceyouare
attunedtoanitem,youcanuseitsmagicalproperties.
Anitemcanbeattunedtoonlyonecreatureatatime.A
creaturecanbeattunedtonomorethanthreemagicitems
atanygiventime,andyoucanattuneyourselftoonlyone
itemduringashortrest.
Yourattunementtoanitemendswhentheitemhasbeen
morethan 100 feetawayfromyoufor 24 hoursandwhen
youdie.Youcanalsovoluntarilyendyourattunementto
anitemwithanothershortrest.

Themostbasicformofmagicarmorisasuperbproduct
ofphysicalandmagicalcraft.Youhavea+1bonustoyour
ArmorClasswhilewearingthisarmor.
Asuitof+ 1 armorneverrustsordeteriorates,andit
magicallyresizestofititswearer.

+1Weapon
Magicweaponsareunmistakablyfinerinqualitythan
theirordinarycounterparts.Youhavea+1bonustothe
attackrollsanddamagerollsyoumakewiththisweapon.
Some+1weapons(swordsinparticular)haveadditional
properties,suchassheddinglight.

BootsofStridingandSpringing
Yourspeedwhileyouwearthesebootsbecomes 30 feet,
unlessyourwalkingspeedishigher,andyourspeedisnot
reducedifyouareencumberedorwearingheavyarmor.
Inaddition,wheneveryoujump,youcanjumpthreetimes
thenormaldistance.

GauntletsofOgrePower
Whileyouwearthesegauntlets,yourStrengthbecomes
19.IfyourStrengthisalready 19 orhigher,thegauntlets
havenoeffectonyou.

PotionofFlying
Thispotiongivesyouaflyingspeedequaltoyourwalking
speedfor 1 hour.Ifthepotionwearsoffwhileyou’reflying
andnothingelseisholdingyoualoft,youmustuseyour
movementtodescend.Ifyoufailtolandbefore 1 minute
passes,youfall.
