Gently prick out seedling from densely planted flat,

carefully separating individual plants/roots

Place seedling in a new flat

planted at lower density

Plants sown at a high density (e.g., 200/flat)

are pricked out into several flats at a lower

density (e.g., 50/flat) to mature
