Brass Band of Battle Creek

holds middle school camp

The Brass Band of Battle

Creek held its first Middle

School Youth Brass Camp at

Marshall High School July

19-21, culminating in a per-

formance in the school’s

Auditorium for Performing

Arts the evening of the 21st.

In all, 27 area middle

schoolers took part during

the three-day camp, working

on 10 musical selections

which were played at the free

concert in the auditorium

attended by about 150 peo-

ple.

The students were instruct-

ed by several current mem-

bers of the Brass Band of

Battle Creek, along with sev-

eral area band teachers,

including Amanda Burdette,

who is the director of bands

at Marshall Middle School.
