Elmer’s (Big Joe & Joe) children would like to invite you on Sunday, July
25th from 2-5pm. As we are celebrating the life of our Dad, Grandpa,

Elmer passed away on January 6, 2021.

Connie Calhoun
Connie Calhoun, age 73 of
Port Royal, Kentucky, passed
away on Wednesday, June
30, 2021. Daughter of the
late Emmalou (Cornett) Hall,
and Alex Hall, Jr. , she was
preceded in death by two
brothers, Jimmy and Douglas
Hall. Connie regularly
attended Hopewell Baptist
Church.
She is survived by hus-
band Gene Calhoun of Port
Royal; sons Greg Calhoun of
Pendleton, Kentucky; Kevin
(Laura) Calhoun of Port
Royal; Ryan (Vanessa)
Calhoun of Eminence,
Kentucky; Jason (Samantha)
Calhoun of Port Royal;
brother Ronald Hall of Battle
Creek, Michigan; sister
Donna Hall of Battle Creek;
nine grandchildren; and six
great-grandchildren.
Visitation took place at 10

a.m. on Sunday, July 4 at the
Prewitt New Castle Funeral
Home (prewitts.com) in New
Castle, Kentucky.
The funeral service at 2
p.m. at the funeral home offi-
ciated by Bro. Mike Frey.
Burial took place at Port
Royal Cemetery.

Larry D. Heidrich
Larry D. Heidrich, age 65
of Marshall, Michigan passed
away on July 5, 2021, at
Evergreen Senior Care and
Rehab, with Grace Hospice.
Larry was born October 22,
1955, in Reed City, Michigan
to the late Charles and Donna
(Baker) Heidrich. He gradu-
ated in Marshall with the sec-
ond graduating class (1973)
of the new high school.
Larry worked at Fry’s
Supermarket in Phoenix,
Arizona, the Regency Hotel
as a chauffeur, as well as at
Marshall Intermediate School
District and Alwyn Downs
Golf Course of Marshall. In
earlier years he enjoyed
sports and received his varsi-
ty letter in basketball and
track. He enjoyed being an
uncle, great uncle and great-
great uncle.
Larry is survived by his
sister, Sandra K. Heidrich
and brother Garry (Patricia)
Heidrich of Marshall; step-
sisters Marjorie (Mike
Schmitzer) Kipp, Carolyn
(John) Carver, Bonnie Lakies
and Melissa (Bob Delaney)
Kipp; stepbrothers Richard


(Kristy) Kipp and Russel
(Benji) Kipp; nieces and
nephews Shelly (Andy
Atkins) Slagle, Jason (Debra)
Heidrich and Halsey (Randy)
Stanton; great nieces and
nephews Tyler Slagle, Cassie
Slagle, Zachary Heidrich,
Zoey Stanton, Izabela
Stanton and Gage Stanton;
great-great nephew Bradley
Fitzpatrick; and several Kipp
nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death
by his parents, Charles and
Donna Heidrich; stepfather
Robert Kipp; sister Teri
(David) Shepard and their
son, Jesse Shepard; and step-
brothers, Kenneth Kipp,
Thomas Kipp and Ronald
Lakies.
Cremation has taken place
and a private graveside ser-
vice has been held at
Oakridge Cemetery in
Marshall. Memorial contri-
butions can be made to the
charity of one’s choice.

Richard Horschak
Richard Alan Horschak,
age 72, of Battle Creek
passed away suddenly June
30, 2021. He was born in
Iron County, Michigan on
September 24,1948. He
proudly served his country in
the army and was a Vietnam
Veteran. For many years
Richard volunteered as a VA
Medical Center Ambassador
in Battle Creek logging close
to 4,000 hours of service. He
also held many offices with
the VFW Post 565.
Richard was an extremely
kind person, a gentle soul,
willing to help others by
driving them to appointments
and countless errands. He
especially enjoyed visits and
dinners with his family.
He was preceded in death
by his parents Edward and
Lois Horschak. He is sur-
vived by his immediate fami-
ly - sisters Pam (John)

Munsie of Marshall,
Michigan; Pat (Bruce)
MacQueen of Kalamazoo,
Michigan; Priscilla (Bob)
Baker of Naperville, Illinois;
and brother Jay (Nancy)
Horschak of Gouldsboro,
Maine; and many nieces and
nephews. He was loved and
will be greatly missed by his
family. A private graveside
service will be held at a later
date.

Donna Rewa
Donna Rewa, 69, of
Marshall died on Saturday,
July 17, 2021, at her home.
Donna was born on June
27, 1952, in Prestonsburg,
Kentucky to Alexzander and
Emma Lou (Cornette) Hall.
She graduated from Marshall
High School in 1970, and
later would earn an associate
degree in nursing.
Donna was a home maker
and stayed home and raised
her family. She enjoyed
painting, knitting, and cro-
cheting. Donna also enjoyed
reading her bible and doing
her bible studies.
She is survived by daugh-
ters Joann Rewa and Shelby
Rewa; six grandchildren,
Brendan, Tyler, Marlyn,
Michael, Brandon and
Jessica; and a brother Ronald
(Susan) Hall. She was pre-
ceded in death by her parents,
son Brant Rewa in 2015 and
siblings Connie Calhoun,
Douglas Hall and James Hall.
A graveside side service
will take place at 9:30 a.m.
on Friday, July 23, 2021, at
Oakridge Cemetery at 614

Janine Robinson
Janine Kaye Robinson, 57,
of Springfield, Michigan
passed away on July 15,
2021, under hospice care in
Springfield. She was born on
July 13, 1964, in Battle
Creek, Michigan to parents
David K. and Beverly J.
Orns. Janine graduated from
Marshall High School in
1981, and had been employed
by TRMI of Battle Creek,
Michigan for many years,
and truly enjoyed a lifelong
love for horses.
Janine is survived by her
brother, Martin Grandy of
Battle Creek; step-father
John Orns of Battle Creek;
stepmother Janet Grandy of
Battle Creek; and stepsister
Sheri Gillett of Marshall,
Michigan. She is preceded in
death by her mother, Beverly
Orns and her father, David K.
Grandy.
Services were entrusted to
Kempf Family Funeral and
Cremation Services, 723 US
Hwy 27 N Marshall, MI

49068 where family gathered
with friends on Sunday, July
18, 2021, from 1-4 p.m. A
potluck reception followed.
