Taza is divided neatly in two: the ville nouvelle (also called Taza Bas, or Lower Taza), centred
on Place de l’Indépendance, and the walled medina (Taza Haute), occupying the hill 2km to the
south. Local buses and sky-blue petits taxis (Dh6) run regularly between the two.
