1.5 cun lateral to the midline and 5.5 cun superior to the anterior

hairline or 0.5 cun posterior to ➞Du-20.

How to find

BL-8is best located by using ➞Du-20as a reference point.

➞Du-20is located at the junction of the vertical midline with a

line connecting the apices of the ears, 5 cun superior to the anterior

hairline (➞ 3.1.1). To locate BL-8, measure 0.5 cun from

➞Du-20in a posterior direction and 1.5 cun in a lateral direction.

Needling

Transversely (subcutaneously) 0.5–1 cun. Moxibustion possible.

● Calms the shen
