How often will Chun need to empty the container?
In this chapter we deal with measurements associated with 3 -dimensional objects. These may be solids
which havemass, surface area, andvolume, or containers which can hold a certaincapacity.
The shapes we deal with includeprismsandpyramidswhich have all flat orplane faces, andcylinders,
conesandsphereswhich havecurved surfaces.
SOLIDS WITH PLANE FACES
Thesurface areaof a three-dimensional figure with plane faces is the sum of the areas of the faces.
A SURFACE AREA [6.4]
(solids and containers)
Chun’s roof is leaking. ml of water is dripping onto
her floor every minute. She places a cm by cm by
cm container under the leak to catch the drops.
