PEDIATRICS

■ Lab studies can confirm clinical suspicion.
■ Presence of IgM to measles is diagnostic.
■ Rise in antibody titers during course of illness
■ Viral cultures can also be performed.


TREATMENT


■ Supportive care: Antipyretics, prevent of dehydration
■ Treat 2° bacterial infections with antibiotics.
■ Respiratory isolation
