DERMATOLOGY

CONDYLOMA ACUMINATUM

■ Genital warts, caused by sexually transmitted papillomavirus; soft, fleshy
growths on the skin of the genital, perianal, or anal canal regions
■ Malignant transformation to squamous cell carcinoma may occur.
■ If recurrent, atypical, large, or occurs in HIV-positive patient, may require
biopsy to rule out malignancy


DISSEMINATED GONOCOCCAL INFECTION

SYMPTOMS/EXAM


■ Fever, migratory arthritis, and rash are the common presentation of dis-
seminated gonococcal disease (see Figure 17.7).
