DC Network Theorems Unit 1 – DC Network Theorems
UNIT 1 – DC NETWORK THEOREMS
UNIT OBJECTIVE
At the completion of this unit, you will be able to locate and identify the major components on
the DC NETWORK THEOREMS circuit board.
UNIT FUNDAMENTALS
The DC NETWORK THEOREMS circuit board consists of 9 training circuit blocks and a
CONSTANT CURRENT SOURCE generator block.
The board is designed to enhance your knowledge of voltage and current distribution in dc
circuits.
Theorems are used to determine voltage and/or currents in circuits where Ohm's law cannot
easily be applied.
For example, Ohm's law cannot easily be applied in a circuit having two voltage sources applied
in different branches. The voltage drop across R3 cannot easily be determined.
One circuit block on the board is a constant current source. A constant current source circuit
provides fixed current values that are independent of load changes.
