DC Network Theorems Unit 6 – Superposition and Millman's Theorems
Exercise 2 – Millman's Theorem
EXERCISE OBJECTIVE
When you have completed this exercise, you will be able to solve a circuit by applying Millman's
theorem. You will verify your results by comparing calculated and measured data.
DISCUSSION
- Millman’s theorem is used to determine voltages across branches by summing branch
currents and conductances. - Identify the individual branches in the circuit.
- Calculate the current through each branch.
- Calculate the conductance of each branch.
- Determine the voltage drop across R3 by dividing the sum of the branch currents by the sum
of the branch conductances.
