EXERCISE OBJECTIVE
When you have completed this exercise, you will be able to determine the total equivalent
resistance of a series/parallel circuit. You will verify your results with a multimeter.
EXERCISE DISCUSSION
- To reduce resistance in a series/parallel circuit to a single equivalent resistance, combine the
resistances of the series and parallel branches. - Determine the equivalent resistance (RE) of a parallel circuit branch with more than two
resistors of different values. - Determine the total resistance by adding the value of RE to the value of the series element.
