Digital Logic Fundamentals Unit 6 – JK Flip-Flop
A T flip-flop is a JK flip-flop with J and K inputs set high (logic 1). The outputs of a T flip-flop
change state at every clock signal.
A D-type flip-flop is a JK flip-flop with complementary J and K inputs.
A master-slave flip-flop is two JK flip-flops with the outputs of the master connected to the
inputs of the slave. A master-slave flip-flop is useful in certain applications to prevent
racing of the outputs.
NEW TERMS AND WORDS
JK flip-flop - a flip-flop with two data inputs (J and K) and one clock input.
master-slave JK flip-flop - a circuit that contains two flip-flops, a master and a slave. The
outputs of the master connect to the inputs of the slave.
