ENGINE ELECTRICAL 2-17
- Disconnect the sending unit electrical harness.
- Using an ohmmeter, check continuity of the sending unit terminals
 (sending unit terminal and ground).
- With the engine stopped, continuity should exist.
- With the engine running, continuity should not exist.
- If continuity does not exist as stated, the sending unit is faulty.
REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
- Turn the ignition key to the OFF position. Disconnect the negative
 battery cable.
- Locate the oil pressure sending unit on the engine.
- Disconnect the sending unit electrical harness.
- Unfasten and remove the sending unit from the engine.
 To install:
- Coat the new sending unit with Teflon 8 tape or electrically conductive
 sealer.
- Install the sending unit and tighten to 11 ft. Ibs. (15 Mm).
- Attach the sending unit's electrical connector.
- Start the engine, allow it to reach operating temperature and check
 for leaks.
- Check for proper sending unit operation.
