me and guide me and show me the path I should take.”
After another time of quiet, the Lord seemed to give me the fol-
lowing, which answered my question, and I wrote in my journal: “I
am a communicator whose gifts of compassion and humor are
meant to draw people (mainly, but not exclusively, women) into the
warm circle of God’s mercy, to bring them to a place of faith and
commitment.” God seemed to be saying that I need not give up any
area of ministry so long as I glorified him.
Oh, Father, teach us to meditate on your Word. Help us not to rush
through the riches of what you are saying to us. Slow us down. Let
