An OLEDB Connection Manager Editor.

You have started with one Data fl ow task and by moving through a series of dialog boxes,
you have easily confi gured two connection managers, a source in your data fl ow and a des-
tination in your datafl ow. If this were a simple data push where the source schema exactly
matched the destination schema, then you could map your columns in the destination, and
the package would be complete. But remember that you also have to add the current date-
time for the Modifi edDate column, and that you need to look up the ProductID for these
reviews based on the Product Number. For this you need Data Flow Transformations. Use a
Derived Column to add the modifi ed date and a Lookup transform to perform the “lookup”
of the ProductID.

Finishing the Data Flow
To confi gure the derived column, follow these steps:

  1. Drag a derived column transform from the data fl ow Toolbox onto the Data Flow tab
    under the Flat File Source.

  2. Click the Flat File Source.

  3. Drag the green data fl ow path from the Flat File Source to the Derived Column
    transform.
