Restoring Reporting Services
Even with the best preventive measures, catastrophes still can bring down one or more of
your servers. Very few high availability solutions are 100 percent perfect; nothing can give
you absolute assurance that you won’t have to perform a restore of your SSRS solution at
some point in your career. In case of a disaster or a planned server migration, for native
mode, perform the following steps:
- Using either native SQL Server restore methods or with your supported backup
application, perform a restore of the ReportingServer database from your
backup fi le. - Do the same for the ReportServerTempDB database from your backup fi le.
- Using Reporting Services Confi guration manager, restore the symmetric encryption
key from your .snk fi le.
