Key Peformance Indicator (KPI) window.

The KPI you just created can now be displayed by any application that supports BI
Semantic Models and KPIs, including Excel and Performance Point. Reporting Services can
consume the KPI data but does not automatically render the KPI status graphically as Excel
or Performance Point does.

To view the KPI in Excel follow these steps:

  1. Click the PivotTable option of the Offi ce Ribbon. The Create PivotTable pop-up
    window opens.

  2. Select New Worksheet and click OK.

  3. From the PowerPivot fi eld list, expand the DimProductCategory dimension and drag
EnglishProductCategoryName to the Row Labels section.

  4. Expand DimProductSubcategory and drag EnglishProductSubCategoryName to the
    Row Labels section below EnglishProductCategoryName.

  5. Expand FactResellerSales and drag Sales Amount and TotalProductCost to the Values
    section.
