- Click the Listener tab. Here you can specify an availability group listener that
provides clients with a connection point. You can either choose to create an avail-
ability group listener in this screen, or you can confi gure one later using the Add
Availability Group Listener dialog.
If you choose to set one up at this point, you are given a few options as seen in
Figure 27-21. You can specify the listener’s DNS name (maximum 15 characters).
You can also specify a custom port and IP address. For the IP address you can
choose either to use a static IP address (recommended) or use DHCP to automati-
cally allocate an address from the available subnet. When you fi nish confi guring,
click Next. - On the Select Initial Data Synchronization screen, as shown in Figure 27-22, you are
presented with a few options to get your databases initialized in the availability
group:
■ (^) Full: Performs a full database and log backup against your selected databases.
Those databases are then restored to each secondary replica joined to your
