Chapter 39
Assorted Biblical Principles 13-24
No. 13 Principle of Belonging to Each Other
My beloved is mine, and I am his: he feedeth among the lilies.
Song of Solomon 2:16
Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife
unto the husband. The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband:
and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife.
1 Corinthians 7:3,4
(a) “To belong to” means “to own”. When you own something, you can have it at
anytime, and anywhere. So it is in marriage.
(b) You belong to each other and you must have that attitude that I belong to my wife
and she belongs to me.
(c) So bear in mind that you can make love with your spouse or be made love to at
anytime.^1
No. 14 Principle of Being Flexible and As Active As a Roe
Until the day break, and the shadows flee away, turn, my beloved, and be thou
like a roe or a young hart upon the mountains of Bether.
Song of Solomon 2:17
