Vassil Chalashkanov:

  • Designed, tested, and implemented a
sales script aimed at introducing a
    standard selling method and increasing
    the effectiveness of sales efforts
    throughout all company-owned retail
outlets in Bulgaria. Using the script
ensures that all elements of the effec-
    tive sales approach are used.

  • Introduced new services to the market
    that required expanded facilities, and
negotiated the rental contract and set
up the warehouse space in a way that
    complies with the customs require-
    ments for a bonded warehouse.
Ensured the on-time licensing of the
facilities to launch the new products
    sooner.

  • Initiated a service center expansion
project at DHL in 1998. The expan-
sion was necessary to address the prob-
    lem of insufficient geographic service
    coverage and imperfect performance
    indicators in same-day shipment
    departures and deliveries. Created
    partnerships with small, local service
    companies who had excess capacity
and were willing to start delivering
    and collecting shipments on DHL’s
behalf in their area. Doubled the num-
ber of service centers in one year.
    Coverage and same-day performance
    improved dramatically.

  • Worked closely with the CEO of the
    largest gasoline importer in Bulgaria
and the regional chief of customs, who
    supported projects on several occasions
by ensuring the speedy processing of
    licensing documentation.
