ternal issues of succession, organization, de-
sign, and management development have
been highlighted by the continued growth of
the business.
In any event, the company hopes that
books and video will have a circular effect on
Suzy’s Zoo business, as the increased recog-
nition that will come from these higher-pro-
file exposures will boost sales for all products
sporting the Suzy Zoo’s character images.
Spafford concluded a recent SDSU alum-
ni article interview by noting, “It’s not the
same world as it was. I feel like I was very
lucky to get into it when I did. If I had to do
it over again today, I think I would find it to
be much more of a challenge.” And there are
still challenges ahead.
