. en I left due to an opportunity to visit the Hawaiian island of Molo-
kai. I lived there for almost a year, and then returned to Cyprus in summer
. Shortly afterwards I married Maro, a Cypriot I had known since my
first stay on the Mediterranean island, and decided to settle in Cyprus.
In I founded CS Publishing and started my own magazine, naturally
called (later changed to ). At the time I
lived in a two-bedroom apartment with my wife and two very young daugh-
ters. My office was also my daughters’ bedroom. I was working as a full-time
teacher while I established the business, and in addition was working for an
advertising company in trade for services provided to CS Publishing. I was
also helping in the rearing of the children. e first couple of years of run-
ning the business were incredibly rigorous.
During – I wrote , and in I started writing

CS Publishing. In – I put aside in order to write

I have the qualifications that are needed for providing training instruction
for hard gainers and/or trainees with very demanding jobs and family lives.
I am an archetypal hard gainer who has never used bodybuilding drugs. I
have been an inveterate muscle and strength buff for most of my life. I have
suffered the frustration and injuries that result from zealously following
conventional training methods and abusive exercise technique. I have been
heavily involved in the raising of two children, and have worked –
hours each week year round. And as described in Chapter I have lifted
some substantial iron to show that I am no armchair athlete or theoreti-
cian.
