Today I am talking with Vanessa Ali. Vanessa is a successful
entrepreneur and founder of All-U-Need Personnel, a temporary
staffing agency located in Washington, DC. She is also the founder of
Vanessa Ali Ministri es, a non-profit organization dedicated to
empowering and transforming the lives of low income, i nner-city
residents.

I’ve heard many definitions of the word “success,” but how do you
define it?

Success is many things to many people. People have misunderstood
success and prosperity. Some people even think it’s wrong to be
successful. When you say the word “successful,” everybody thinks of
lu xury cars, large houses, and huge bank accounts. You can have all
th ese possessions and still remain unsuccessful. Merely having
possessions does not necessarily mean you are successful. Some people
define success in terms of power, position, prestige, and popularit y.
The external picture of success does not necessarily guarantee internal
happiness.
